Emily Wright, PhD

Emily has been a postdoctoral researcher in the Tian Lab since 2021. She earned her PhD from UC Davis in 2020, where she studied how exposure to pubertal androgens drives sex differences in social stress behavior and neural function. Currently, her research focuses on using the iSeroSnFR line of biosensors to study real-time serotonin release dynamics across a variety of aversive, appetitive, and social conditions. Emily also investigates how pharmaceutical interventions for depression/anxiety impact endogenous serotonin release, using machine learning programs to track complex behaviors.
